I was crusing in my steam red late one night
When an XKE pulled up on the right
He rolled down the window of his shiny new jag
And challenged me then and there to a drag
I said 'You're On, buddy, my mill(?)'s running fine'
We've come off the line now, on Sunset and Vine
I'll go you one better, if you're got the nerve
Lets race all the way... to Deadman's Curve.
The street was deserted late friday night
We were bugging each other while we sat at the light
We both pumped the clutch when the light turned green
You should've heard the whine from my screaming machine
I flew past the grey shrubs and Cresent Hights
All the jag could see were my 6 tail lights
He passed me at Domini(?) and I started to swerve
I pulled her out and there we were at, at Deadmans Curve
"Well the last thing I remember Doc, I started to swerve
and then I saw the jag slide into the curb
I know I'll never forget that horrible sight
